In the belly of Wellington County, the Food School is a high school hospitality and tourism program run by Chef Instructors, Chris Jess and Nicole DeBeyer. Together with students, the program endeavors to develop innovative programming that highlights our diverse culinary world.

Referencing the work done by the Slow Food Movement , as well as chefs like Alice Waters, Jaime Oliver, Ann Cooper, Paul Finkelstein and writers such as Raj Patel, Michael Pollan and Mark Bittman, the program strives to develop menus and actions that highlight how we are living in a time when it has become vitally important that we learn/relearn how to grow gardens, preserve our food, and reacquaint with what real food is.
