Project: An undertaking requiring concerted effort – in particular, an undertaking that, if done well, can produce positive results when marking is done by your Instructor. 😉
In this project you will examine 2 modern culinary trends. Through the use of the web, interviews, and print material (e.g. books and magazines) you are employed to research and present how your two chosen trends are similar and different. You will also discuss the history behind your two trends and you will then finally try to guess, using previously acquired data, where the trend will go in the future.
Many trends surrounding food can found these days. Here is just a quick list: vegetarianism, freeganism, comfort foods, veganism, local food, organic food, bistro, ethnic fusion, molecular gastronomy, Irish pub, artisanal foods, gross food, up-scale Mexican, 30 minute meal via food channel, charcuterie, raw food, fruitarianism, atkins diet, whole food, tapas, gluten-free, Royal Thai cuisine, wild and foraged foods, poisonous & danger foods, high fat foods, no fat foods, tex-mex.
Begin by exploring a few of these trends and trying to think up some others that maybe aren’t mentioned above. Report on your findings here.
Once you’ve done this initial exploration, begin thinking about an innovative way of presenting your findings. Use this to help you do this.
